Quality helps Sheep Show celebrate 140 years

CLOSE to a record crowd passed through the turnstiles as Quality Wool and Quality Livestock helped the Australian Sheep and Wool Show celebrate its 140th year in Bendigo last weekend.

More than 30,000 people attended the three‑day event held at the Prince of Wales Showground from July 14‑16, billed as the biggest show of its type in the world.

Quality Wool was again an exhibitor, entertaining visitors in a marquee shared with Eildon Springs Stud Rams from Lexton, Victoria, as Australia's top wool growers and prime lamb producers went on display across the weekend.

A strong contingent of Victoria and South Australian representatives were present, comprising of Vallon Gibson, Maurice Jardine, Peter Ryan, Mark Amarant, Brett Johnson, Brett Woods (all Quality Wool) Josh Nourse (Quality Livestock) and National Marketing Manager Alison Tierney.

The event presented a great opportunity to catch up with clients and contacts from across the country, as well as the chance to see the best of woollen fibre and fashion the industry has to offer.

This year's sheep show featured 2,700 sheep and goats from 400 breeders across 32 breeds, a ram sale offering some of the country's best modern Merino genetics, and an educational hub to show future producers the avenues available for careers in Agriculture.
