Wool prices remain firm

THE wool market remained firm this week.

The Eastern Market Indicator finished the week at 919 cents per kilogram clean, up 1c/kg on last week.

The Australian dollar hovered at around 90 US cents early in the week before dipping to 88.8 US cents later in the week.

The total offering of 46,144 bales brought a clearance of 93 per cent.

Broader wool types eased a little, shedding 5-15c/kg.

Prices for skirtings and crossbreds increased slightly, with healthy demand maintained.

Levels for oddments were generally unchanged on last week.

A total 46,303 bales is set to go under the hammer nationally next week.
