Market dips slightly

THE eastern market indicator fell just 6 cents per kilogram this week to close at 904c/kg.

Of the 50,499 bales offered, 10.5 per cent was passed-in.

Most Merino types eased, with most of the crossbred fleece following a similar trend.

Southern region

Most Merino fleece microns shed 5-10c/kg, while there was little change with the broader types.

Most skirtings remained firm and crossbred types dipped 5-15c/kg, with 28-30 micron wools most affected.

Cardings remained fairly solid.

Sales will again be held in all three centres next week, with about 55,000 bales expected to be put under the hammer.

In a similar trend to this week, it is anticipated that the market will struggle a little next week, but not significantly.
