Market holds for Easter
THE eastern market indicator held its ground this week to remain at 728 cents per kilogram.
Of the 46,392 bales offered, 18.9 per cent was passed in. Although this was high, it was a slight improvement on last week.
Most falls were recorded for crossbred fleece types, in particular 28 micron Merino fleece wool.
Better style finer Merino types improved slightly.
Southern Region
Wools of 19 micron and finer strengthened about 10c/kg, while remaining microns fell slightly.
Merino skirtings eased again, with the gap continuing to open between good and poorer style wools.
Crossbred fleece also dipped up to 10c/kg, with 28 micron types up to 15c/kg cheaper.
Carding wools drifted about 5c/kg.
A total 72,000 bales have been rostered for sale after the Easter recess, with sales to be held in all three centres.
