Market slide halts
THE wool market improved this week, with the indicator clawing
back 4 cents per kilogram to close at 681c/kg.
Passed-in rates were the lowest for some time, with only 8.3
per cent of the offering not meeting the reserve.
Southern Region
All Merino fleece types recovered some ground this week and
gained up to 5c/kg.
Merino skirtings remained relatively unchanged.
Crossbred types were a little weaker from a very poor and
limited offering.
Cardings bounced back to finish about 5c/kg higher than last
week.
Next week's sales will again be held in Melbourne, Sydney
and Fremantle, with a total offering of about 62,000 bales
rostered.
This extra volume will test the market and so we should get
a good indication of demand levels.
