Solid market run eases

AFTER a very solid run of price increases, the market eased slightly this week.

The eastern market indicator slipped 3 cents per kilogram this week to close at 751c/kg.

Of the 65,140 bales offered, 14.1 per cent was passed in.

Most Merino types fell, with 18.5 micron types most affected.

Southern Region

Merino fleece eased, with 18.5 micron wools hit hardest.

Merino skirtings also eased about 10c/kg for the week. Inferior wools were most affected.

Crossbred fleece remained firm, while carding wools were largely unchanged.

A total 65,000 bales are rostered for sale next week, with sales to be held in all three centres.

Next week's sales should provide a true indication of current demand. Little change is anticipated.
