Trend continues
SIMILAR to last week, the eastern market indicator drifted downward another 6 cents per kilogram this week to close at 738c/kg.
Again, a very average selection was on offer. Most premium wools made premium prices.
Of the 65,409 bales offered, 19.4 per cent was passed in - the highest level recorded in several weeks.
Most falls were in Merino fleece types of 20-22 microns.
Southern Region
Merino fleece of 20-22 microns eased about 10c/kg. Remaining microns were mostly unchanged.
Merino skirtings dipped about 10c/kg, while crossbred fleece strengthened about 5c/kg.
Cardings decreased 5-10c/kg.
A total of 70,000 bales are again rostered for next week's sales in all three centres.
Little change is expected, unless the wool quality improves. There is simply an over-supply of poor quality wool and not enough demand for it. Chinese importers have also reduced their price brackets.
