Weekly Market Wrap

Market shows promise
THE eastern indicator jumped 15 cents per kilogram to close
at 787c/kg.
The easing of the Australian dollar combined with decreased
volumes of wool on offer were the main reasons for the improved
demand.
Most categories received a considerable lift in price, with
the exception of 25-26 micron fleece wool and carding types,
which were only slightly higher in price.
Stylish clean wools are receiving a premium as dust and vegetable
matter are becoming more prevalent.
The trend will probably continue next week, with the weekly
offering totalling just over 57,000 bales.
Movement of wool overseas is still very slow however, and
so big sales and a stronger Australian dollar could hold up
the market.
Good wools will continue to receive good support.
