Little change
THE eastern market indicator remained unchanged this week to close at 749 cents per kilogram.
Of the 73,877 bales offered, 11.7 per cent was passed in.
Prices varied within types and micron categories.
Southern Region
Merino fleece wools remained unchanged overall, however there were variations between microns. Wool of 17.5 micron and finer increased 10c/kg, 21-23 micron types decreased 10c/kg and 24-26 micron wools lifted 5c/kg.
Merino skirtings eased slightly overall. Crossbred fleece wools again strengthened about 5c/kg, while carding wools lost about 5c/kg.
A total 25,000 bales are rostered for sale next week in Melbourne only, with Sydney and Fremantle commencing the 3-week break from sales.
The market is not expected to change significantly next week considering the small offerings (Melbourne only).
Hopefully we will see relatively solid prices, which will help kick-off a positive start to the new selling season.
