Quality Wool hits Sheepvention for the first time

HOT on the heels of last month’s Australian Sheep and Wool Show (ASWS) in Bendigo, Quality Wool was an exhibitor at Sheepvention for the first time in the event’s 39‑year history in south‑western Victoria earlier this week.

More than 25,000 people and 500 traders came from far and wide to attend the two‑day show held at the Hamilton Showgrounds on Monday and Tuesday (August 7th and 8th), billed as the biggest farming event in Victoria.

A more business‑focused event than the ASWS, Sheepvention provided a great platform and exposure for Quality to market to potential new wool clients, with the two days delivering positive results on that front.

Sheepvention brought together wool representatives from across three states, with Maurice Jardine, Brett Johnson, Paul Cocking (all Victoria), Nathan Hughes (New South Wales) and Bill Lively (South Australia) all spending time in the Quality tent, again shared with Eildon Springs Merino Stud from Lexton, Victoria.

A mix of competitions, entertainment, food and fashion, the event has a rich history beginning in 1958 with the introduction of the Hamilton Sheep Show, which was then expanded and born into Sheepvention in 1978.

Competitions and events run over the two days include the Ram Sale, Sheep Show, Victorian Farm Dogs Competition, Inventions Competition, and Wool Fashion Parade.
